hmm suprisingly he did not post any pics of the interior of the motor or has any pics of the differentials/gearbox.

i would be hesitant to bid on the project. it's an unfinished project car that he probably can't finish. the engine harness is unconnected (read as probably not converted) and the Atessa system isn't wired in properly. It also needs a driveshaft and the turbos need to be plumbed (given the constraints of the S13's engine bay, you'll need to custom fab the plumbing). He got himself way in over his head, and couldn't finish the hard stuff, realized it, and is now selling the car on ebay.

6 thousand seems ok, if you justify the cost of the RB and a S13 chassis. I assume it'd be hard to sell the RB though or you could just get the RB25 transmission correct?

he's already done the modification to the S13 to accept the front drivetrain of the 4WD system. And after looking through my GT-R service manual, it looks like the front differential is cast into the oil pan for some weird reason. So you would also need an RB25 oil pan as well as trans.

Second off, buying project cars is never a good idea. Especially unfinished project cars. You only create ulcers that way.

while it would be a cool thing to own an S13 mated to an RB26DETT and Attessa drivetrain, I don't like the idea of picking up the pieces of someone's failed project car

Well, unless you're going to part the thing out and re-sell it.

That's a pretty clean car, if he has the original engine lying around, sell all the RB stuff and keep the 240 (or sell it). If you can do all that yourself, you might have a profit-making opportunity on your hands. he's probably desperate to get rid of the thing.

very. i started looking at the wiring for the attessa-ets system, and it's mind numbing. not to mention that the car doesn't have HICAS, so I don't know how that will effect the attessa system. Also, the intercooler plumbing will have to be completely custom fabricated since the stock GT-R IC pipes won't fit the S13's bay layout.

The stuff left to do on that car is all the hard to do stuff. Cutting holes in the engine bay to fit the front portion of the drivetrain is easy stuff.

Like I said, I think the guy got in over his head and is trying to pawn off his unfinished project because he can't do it.

just wondering, but dont the RB25 and 26 have the intake manifold over the valve cover? The links didnt work for me, but the picture at the bottem looks like a blacktop SR to me. I know my freinds RB25's valve cover sits about and inch from the radiater, and that engine doesnt seem long enough.

I just got parts from this guy i know who was the buyer of this car, when i get home i search nico and this was the first topic i read. what a coincidence!

when i get there i see the 240sx that is probley where my pass rearquarter window is comming from, then i notice that it has the wheel on the right. the guy selling this on ebay had the dash all apart, he couldnt get it to fit i guess. when he got it he said the engine was in it and the transmission was hitting the ground. now he has put it in another 89\90 fastback. it has a fabed trans cross member and he had to cut a piece of the pass. side floorboard out. he said he put a comb of skyline and s13 parts on the front sus.etc. i saw it tonight when getting parts, it lacks ic\piping , driveshaft, and wiring.he used all the parts from the auction, no new transmission. i wonder if it has hicas, i forgot to ask. it has the attessa sys.? i know what it is but how can you tell it has it? i hope the wiring works out.

i hope to get a chance to see it at ohio valley before he sells it.i would like to see it with dual exhaustit's too bad hedidn't have the gtr lights/doghouse

There's a guy here in town doing that EXACT same thing.

With a black 94 convertible.

If he's successful, it's gonna be PSYCHO.

I saw that car on eBay over a month ago. Must be having trouble selling it, or no one will pay his reserve.

Not only will it be crazy having the AWD system in the car, but it's also a vert!

That car in the first picture will fall apart. He's taking an old worn chassis that has rust present, and installing suspension never ment for the car into mounting plates that aren't reinforced by the original chassis design. Not too mention who knows if the suspension geometry will ever be acceptable with that level of adaptation. It may work statically but dynamically might be a totally different story.

Not too mention that car is FAR from done. The ATTESA system requires alot of wiring and secondary control computers located in the rear of the Skyline (of which he does not appear to have), as well as fully operational ABS and G-sensors that he does not apear to have as well to help control the electronically controlled torque distribution.

Sounded like a good idea, but way too much work over the benefit. Then again there is something to be desired about being the first.
