yea chp3 article 16, but I looked and did not see any info on color of the headlights. You might want to give your local dept. a call, and ask what is legal and if they can fax, e-mail, or mail you a copy of the exact code that states the law. Here in California it is illegal to have yellow or blue headlights specifically, and illegal to have any red or blue forward facing lights no matter where they are. Amongst other things, but just to give an idea. I try to study up on laws like this in my state that way if I get pulled over and ticketed for something I can fight it in court. For example, it is NOT illegal in California to have underbody Neon, LEDs, Cathodes, etc. AS LONG AS the tube can not be seen while driving and can not be blue or red. I had the CVC number in my Sidekick in the glove because I had green neon underneath her. Do some research on that sight, and you will be suprised with some of the things that are perfectly legal.

Here is a nice lil link for all those who live in CA, these are some of the most common mods that people in CA do, so the CA DMV has kindly put this lil page together.

My dad and all his buddies are classic Porsche guys and one of the "cool" things for their Porches are the yellow headlights. I guess it's popular in Europe. But they are not legal ANYWHERE in the US on public roads.

I've done mine already, most people here didn't seem to like it, but no problems yet with the cops. Mines ok for state inspection but i don't know bout vehicle codes.

lol, then it will only pass because you are going to pass it illegally, we are talking about legality issues here, not how we can get around it!

You can pass your inspection with some illegal modifications on your car because they don't always check those things. For example, I will have no problem passing my inspection with my illegal level of tint. An example of what you'd fail for is a straight exhaust, without a cat. You probably know that already, so I apologize for being redundant.

thats true, not all inspectors are thorough. My dad will do it on my car and he goes very detailed so he can yell at me for all the mods i've done and the money i've wasted.
