anyone try different shocks to soften the ride???

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have a 2008 EX35 with 18" stock wheels. The ride is very jumpy, I can't see 17" wheels making a real noticeable difference. I do realize that the ex35 has a shorter wheel base that contributes to the jumpy feel, but I tried pushing the car down on one corner too test the shock bounce and it was almost impossible to push down.Has anyone tried a different shock to soften the ride?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think that even if you do that, you'll just lose the handling quality this car has, and it will feel like you're steering a boat if you go faster into a turn, just as it does with just about any SUV. I think what they did on EX with handling is kinda incredible for an elevated car that it is. It's really a sports sedan camouflaged into an SUV, and they made the ride as cushy as they could have with that concept in mind. I do have 17" tires on mine though, and I hear that does make a difference.

there is nothing wrong with the ride of the EX. mine is a 2010 and I highly doubt there is any difference in the setup. mine has 18 inch wheels too. it is VERY comforable, more comfortable than my former lexus IS 350 and AS comfortable as the lexus RX.

This is completely different from my experience. I have a 2010 RX350, and my wife is considering getting an EX35. We test drove the car last week. The ride was much harder than the RX350's ride. The RX350 isolates road bumps much better. With the EX35, I could feel the road more. In fact, I was quite disappointed because both my wife and I really like the look of the EX35. In addition, we've owned a Nissan Altima for 12 years, and it has served us very very well. Frankly, my impression of the ride is that it was not that much different from the ride on my Altima.

I attributed the difference to the idea that the EX35 is more sporty. By the way, the test car has 18-inch wheels and about 17,000 kms (about 10,600 miles) on it.
