Since my dealership couldn't really tell me anything about getting me a Versa since they're so in demand I test drove a Sentra for kicks.

I test drove a 6-speed Sentra. It was nice, but as soon as I sat in the back seat I couldn't believe how much it lacked compared to the Versa.

If it had a little more room it might be worth the purchase, was a very nice car.

But for $16k and getting a 6-speed SL with intelligent key and such; you just can't beat the price....

I looked at the 06 sentra with the audio package or whatever, Car felt small. My Previous vechicle was a Dodge Ram so I felt like I was trapped. I didnt even know what a Versa was, but they had one on the lot and ended up buying it.

Weezer is referring to an 07 Sentra, which is a complete redesign.

I just got back from the dealer for the sake of testing one to compare vs. the Versa. There will be a separate thread on this shortly, with my take on it.

We had a look at sedans at first, but then we saw the abundance of hatches out there and decided we wanted one of them. We enjoyed the extra space that you just didn't get with a trunk. We had a look at the new sentra recently and although we think it looks better than the older ones, we just wanted the hatch. Same here MDWeezer. The price and gear box is really what got me.

I sat in a couple of 07 Sentras when I took my car in for the oil change. First impression is that they are a million times better than the 06 Sentras, hands down. They look nice and have very nice looking interiors. You could really tell that it is designed for the NS market though. More show over function.

HOWEVER, the wedge/angled shape of the car makes it seem very cramped and smaller on the inside than the Versa. Versa is more boxy and sits higher, two things that help with headroom. If I wasn't over 6ft tall, maybe it would not be a big deal. I see now why they are holding the Versa sedan back. If they weren't, it would be beating the pants off the Sentra.
