If so... you guys will love this thread.

I'm swapping one into my 75 280Z and will be using the TT 5-speed to go along with it. The only problem I encountered was how to mount the transmission to the engine. Well, I found out the member here 450ZXTT had swapped a VH45DE into a Z32 and used the TT transmission on his by having an adapter plate made.

I contacted him about getting the plate made for it and he said he'd need about 10 people to make it worth the machinists time and such.

So far, including myself, I have about 7 people on the list who wants one. I need 3 or more is possible. The cost should be right around 500 dollars for the conversion plate, the flywheel spacer, and the bolts. Would anyone be interested in buying one of these??

they are a great technical comunity, you get it together in time they are having a big Z Car shootout in Reynolds GA (SEZ)in september, as far as I know no VH has shown up an a SEZ yet, would be a hit for sure

I don't plan on getting this thing together THAT soon; maybe; maybe not. This is my second attempt at a drivetrain swap for my 240. I am well aware that I am treading some new ground as well with the 45, But I am confident that I will get it together eventually as soon as all the details are worked out over the next few months. Need to gather some more info on some stand alone EMS's for the 45 now.

Id suggest you just get an ECU and a wiring harness from a wrecked Q.....

Sorry you feel this way..... but the stock manifold is great, tuned ports at 4000 RPM, what more do you want?

Moderators...what should I make of the research done by fellow NICOclub buddy, Sopadope? I know he came to the conclusion that this engine (VH45de) would not fit in a s13/s14 engine bay, after the manifolds were on, and the engine was ready to be dropped in complete. I know it has been said also that the JDM version the VH41de was actually a few inches smaller in width. This seems like it could be an alternative route to cramming a V8 DOHC into a 240; but still make it happen with a little less duspalcement. This would cure the problem that Sopadope had with the 45 with manifolds being a few inches TOO wide. Where should I go from here? Is there another way? hmm...what to research first?

that thing is like a jigsaw puzzle with hoses coming out on the bottom in every direction, how bout a custom hilbourne style stack with 8 throttlebodies ! now that would be sweet be a shame to cover something like that with a hood
