I'm joining the army this summer- not really sure how it works, but I'd like to be stationed somewhere in Japan. Any Nissan fans here ever been stationed there? any interesting stories?

Former Marine, yes. PCSed to Camp Couch, 1st Civ Div back in 96'. My confederates say I've lost none of the abrasive ballsy Marine atttitude though, I just have longer hair.According to Kadena AFB's goofy Air Force SPs though I'm a "Marine Corp Civilian". I asked the airman "what does that mean, I'm like your civilians but I continue to function in the absence of air conditioning and Dunkin doughnuts"? WD, you going to the HKS meet on the 20th?

yea thats definitely my dream- racing! did any of u guys get in to the local racing scene? I mean seeing as how you leave your cars behind I guess you have to buy a new one and start upgrading all over. then ship the car back to the states I suppose. I guess I haven't been very specific about what I wanted to know. I was just curious as to what soldiers do in their free time in Japan (which conjures up images of hot, wild-colored hair, japanese chicks, giant arcades, and access to some of the best cars (and tuners) on the planet). Am I making it out to be more than it really is? How often did you guys leave the base/barracks, anyway?

Well I am a civilian now so I do whatever I want. I will tell you that the street scene down here is polluted with broke-**** car diving chumps with mouths that are out of proportion to their abilities. As a result I don't go out like I used to because I might send some snot-nosed punk into a guardrail for pissing me off.If you go and you want to be a contender I would suggest you hang out and just watch. Don't talk a lot of smack just see what everyone is doing. You will quickly seperate the *****es from the true players and they will help you. If you are going now there is a chance that by the time your tour is up you actually can get a GT-R or some other non-us model car back without playing all the games. If not get a car here that is like your car there, tune it up and when you have to go home strip it and send the parts home to throw on your stateside car.
