wow, i've had it for about a week and haven't even looked through it. i have it sitting on my desk here at work so i picked it up and gave it a gander. sure enough... page 124.

homeboy needs a boot. overall, a really nice vert. i'm just not as impressed with it as with 110octane's. sr20 and s15 just don't have the shock value as vq35 and s14 kouki do.

so... why isn't this guy a member? pass the word along! we need his VIN!

if thats the same one i saw like 3-4 years ago in ocala florida at a drift event, like 90% of the interior is carbon fiber, right hand drive. it's sick nasty beautiful car.

It's probably a Seibon (Seibon is the first name that comes to mind, it could be a different brand) CF hood. He must've forgotten to mention that part.

i don't understand why people would put so much time, money, and effort into a car to see it in a magazine and turn around and sell it right away. yes, i can understand that it's the best advertisement for a car for sale, but why sell it?

As far as I know, Nissan never made a carbon fiber hood for s15. I have a couple of s15 catalogs with special factory options, but carbon fiber hood is not in there. Somehow, Seibon and Carbon creation call their product 'OEM.' I guess because it's a exact replica of OEM hood and use factory latch or something. Quality better be good since we don't see any hood pins. I know 2 people in person who messed up their cars because latches failed.

I have been running the "OEM" Seibon carbon fiber s15 hood for about 6 months without hoodpins.

It held up fine, but would move a bit more than I like on the freeway, so I installed AeroCatch hoodpins last night.

I would not reccomend running a carbon fiber hood without pins, but If you must...I would trust Seibon over any other brand.

LOCKING HOOD PINS = BEST INVENTION EVER!

94_240sx: Yep, those are the ones I went with...but like 110octane said, go through aerocatch and save around $50

It took me a good 5 hours to install, but I didn't want to rush it and risk destroying my $800 hood.

If you lock them, then yes...you need the key to open them.

If you leave them in the unlocked position, then you don't need the key. You just press down on the part where the lock is and lift the tab.

It's difficult to explain, but basically they can be set up to be locking or non locking with the turn of a key.

Yea, If you get the locking ones and leave them in the unlocked position, they function just like the non-locking ones do...but with the option to lock them if you want.

I keep mine unlocked for the most part, but for the extra $15 or so, I think its worth it to have the option to lock them.

would those hood pins actually have less stress on the carbon hood than the regular hood pins?

my ex had his hood flop up on him and there was a perfect circle of carbon under it from the stress... and im kinda scared to do the whole hood pin thing. i dont want to be buying a new cf hood and windshield and fixing anything else if it did any other kind of damage... but i really like the look of these!

^^I think they'll work just fine. Otherwise, we would have seen some complaints already. I don't think I've seen any complaints against it.
