So true! But that is definetly an awesome commercial. Props to Chevy. I loved when the SSR did the 180 and backed up onto the truck. That was kicky! :rockon

Quella :owned an SSR not too long ago... Dude said he had just bought it and was "holding back since it wasn't broken in yet."

Bah, whatever. I guess when the rear main seal starts oozing oil it'll be broken in. :D

OUCH. 'Nuff said AZ.

I generally don't watch tv too much so i haven't seen it yet. I think the C5 is the best looking 'vette so far. (except the stingray, love the stingray)

The commercial was pretty good, though nothing I'd run in the street and scream about. :D

When I first saw it, I thought it was another RX8 commercial until I took a closer look. The new C6 looks really nice. I was really looking forward to seeing John Lingenfelter get his hands on one and hop it up...:( God bless him.

i love the commercial personally, but i would have rather seen the C6 do the 180 spin and the SSR be the last one on the truck....and this is how i imagine it happening :-pface

the truck stops and the SSR is waiting on the side of the road, it slowly tries to pull on and slips off the ramp..

LMAO! :rotflmao

the c6 had to be first. it set the tone for the rest of the commercial.

I saw an SSR the other day by my work, I don't like it. GM is actually hurting pretty bad right now.

I think the Vette should've been the last on the trailer, stupid GM botched that though and had to show off the new El Camino...

Definitely the best commercial I've seen in a very long time.

I dislike the SSR with a passion, but the advert was so impressive even to me that I bet it will move quite a number of SSRs

The SSR looks like the girl trucks that they have in Australia. ugh

btw, I think the best looking corvette ever was the grand sport

Had an '04 Vette on the lot before I left...

Great engine and drivetrain, but in all seriousness, there's NO WAY that thing is worth nearly $60K. Horrible fit and finish, miserable seating position, tons of wind noise, orange-peel on some panels, and some of the worst switchgear ever (straight out of a 1984 Cavalier). Damn convertible top is MANUALLY operated (and a PITA to raise/lower).

For that kind of $$$, I'd be looking elsewhere. Sad, too, because I loooove Corvettes.

The controversial SSR is supposed to make trucks "cool" for baby boomers, women, and rich kids. And it works. It propels the brand to another level. Hate it? I do! But the marketing gurus know what theyre doing.

And that ad was... BADA$$!

If anything's saved GM's tail over the years, its masterful sales and marketing techniques. In a recent survey, "Like a Rock" and the former "Heartbeat of America" campaigns were recognizable by 99% of respondents. Thats the highest rate of any product, in any brand, in any category.

Bob Lutz is kicking butt as product czar. Except for that damn Aztek, which sold well enough anyway.

didn't the SSR come out like 5-6 years ago? i remember seeing it at a car show or something or on TV as a concept car. i guess they're finally producing it. man, i remember the GTO and the Rageous too. those things were out like 6 years ago, or more.

I just saw the commercial last night. The vette did look attractive, but the SSR was fugly. It screams gimmicky just like a Plymouth Prowler. Megaseth is right. It takes GM years to produce a new product, so I wouldn't pat Lutz's back for the current crap...er crop of GM cars. The C-6 and SSR were both in development before he arrived. I think Lutz is a major talent, and he'll help GM, but he has a tough road ahead of him. Even with Lutz aboard, GM is still having problems selling cars without profit killing incentives because the cars are not built as well as their Japanese competitors. If Lutz can get GM to pay a little more attention to build quality instead of snazzy ads, they could reverse their declining market share without having to resort to incentives. They're moving in the right direction but they have a long way to go.

I don't think I'd call this the best commercial in a long time...

The GTO commercial with it in the smoke was great:D

and I'm betting Ford is gonna have a kick *** commercial real soon to show off the new stang (haters say what you will but the car is beautiful, and could very well lead to some new Shelby GT's:D) and they finally lost the pushrods for the GT:D

Cant really say too much about the looks of the GTO, looks like a sleeker Grand Am or Grnad Prix, but the commercial was awesome, with all of the smoke and then out of the clouds of smoke you see the outline of the car. Finally, some good advertising/marketing people at GM.http://www.pontiac.com/gto/index.jsp?version=html#

I'd have to agree with the grand am look, but I don't think the Holden was really meant to be a big performer in Australia, I think GM needs to throw some ram air on it and give it the Z06 powerplant, can we say Judge?
