I have a 2005 Pathfinder and Xterra; when the Pathfinder hit 59900 miles my slip, abs, and other dash lights came on. After taking it to the dealership I realized that it was just a ploy to get me in for the 60K service. My wife's, who is 8 months pregnant, Xterra just flipped to 60K, when it did her abs, slip and 4wd lights came on and these systems stopped functioning. This all happened as she was driving home after this week's ice / snow storm thinking she was in 4wd and almost went off the road into a tree.

Has anyone else had their lights come on at or just before 60K? Did these systems also fail?

I sincerely hope that Nissan is not intentionally putting people in harm's way to get them in for service?!

Never happened to me but I've heard of the ABS and Airbag light coming on right about warranty time. I wouldn't go to the dealer I'd just have them reset if it were me.

Thats rediculous, I would say Nissan wouldn't disable any of the functions b/c if they were found out they would lose big money and tons of potential buyers.

There is no trick by the manufacturer to get you in for a 60K service. There is a legitimate problem.Find out the root concern and get it repaired.
