Hi guys. First off, yes I have searched. Anyway, I decided to remove the power steering from my 240 since it is going to be a track car only and the current power steering pump is toast. I read about some guys running a closed loop from each side of the rack and including a breather power steering reservoir to keep it lubed. Has anyone out there done it before? I was hoping someone could give me a little more feedback on how they maybe did it themselves.

Thanks for any help!

You'll want to drain all the fluid from the steering rack - not trap it in. Leaving the fluid in makes it substantially harder to turn the wheel. Disconnect the lines from the rack and turn the wheel from lock to lock several times to pump the fluid out, then cap the ports on the rack to keep funk from getting in.

Thanks benemorius. Are you running without PS? I thought about plugging it, but then I read in a Honda forum that the guys are leaving in part of the fluid to not damage the rack and then looping the inlet and outlet with a hose or looping it with a breather so the wheel isn't to hard to turn. I'm all for plugging i and keeping it easy, but will my rack fry if this is going to be a track car. Anyway, thanks for reponding....I appreciate it!
