If so, what setting did you put it on to make it work?

I have mine recirculated and such but am still getting compressor surge even after we loosen it a bit.

i had to run mine with both sources. i hooked up a boost signal to the bottom port and i hooked up manifold vac/ boost sig to the top port, and it runs almost perfect now.

edit: oh crap, its a RS not a S, okay then well if they have two nipples try runnign it my way anyways, if it doesn't then can't help you.

Im running the RS but I just set it pretty stiff and forgot about it, you just made me realize I must be surging all over the place. I havn't had any problems, but I'm sure its not healthy. I just didnt like blowing off at the drop of a hat. I'm still not sure how soft is soft enough... I mean how nessesary is it to have ZERO back pressure?

I have the IAP kit, and the exact same situation as you.

When I vent, the RS works fine (with the vent piece). Blows/opens at just around 0-1 PSI. When I recirc at the same setting (medium stiffness, both springs inside), it needs adjusting to idle properly (loose stiffness, only one spring inside). But even then, it SOUNDS like compressor surge.

That said, I recirculate to be safe and because idle goes wonky and stall-happy when venting.

My theory is that either:

a) the recirc piece and hose size is too restrictive to completely release all the air required in timeb) the entry point/angle in IAP's setup of the recirculated air actually induces a little bit of surge ("half-releasing" if you will)c) the setup (and flutter sounds) only SOUND like compressor surge, sufficient air is released and just makes a funny noise entering the intake pipe that is heard through the air filter

Good luck and let us all know if you find anything as well.
