I did some searching but didn't really come up with any good answers. I'm going to be buying some summer tires tomorrow and just wanted to make sure I'm making a good choice. I was looking at reviews and prices on Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R tires. They seem to have a great rating on all websites that they are sold on, but I was just curious if anyone on here was running them, and in what type of situations they are being driven on (track, street, drag, etc.). I have a 1990 240sx that is daily driven. Any and all input is encouraged. Also, if you guys have any other recommendations on tires, I'm up for suggestions. Thanks.

RE-01R's are a GREAT tire. In my opinion they have dethroned the "defacto" azenies as one of the best street autocross tire.

I run them on my 240 that i use at autocross and track days.

No. I they are RE070's.

Cool, thanks for the input. Another question I had was do I really need a ZR rated tire?? The tires I am replacing are Riken Raptor's that have a ZR rating. I'm putting 225's on the rear and 205's in the front and it looks like Bridgestone only offers them in a VR rated tire. From the research that I did, it looks like a VR rated tire is rated up to 149mph, which I will never attain beings my 1/4 mile time right now is under 110mph haha So I'm guessing these will be more than enough.

PS - If your car was a Pignose we would be close to twins haha Same color, suspension setup, wheels etc.:

They cannot be compared to their performance line-up. RE92's are crappily made-for-OEM fitment tires whose sole purpose is to make more money for the dealership or the tire shop. Why they try to kill the owner with obnoxious road noise and dangerous rain and snow handling is beyond me. Now that I think about it, I can't think of any made-for-OEM tires that are "stellar".. with the exception of high performance cars like the STI and the EVO which come with some pretty bad *** rubber .. as fleeting as the treadwear is on them.

So to the OP: Get the the RE01R's!!Oh, and your car is GORGEOUS.

re01r's atm are arguably the fastest tire with 140 or above treadwear, aka street tire

only thing close is yoko ad07, of course you pay for it with both of them

I got mine from discount tire. They were much cheaper than tirerack when i ordered them, plus they just built a shop about 10min from my house so i didnt have to worry about shipping and installing.

Just checked on Discount Tire's website, doesn't look like they carry them anymore. I would've easily cancelled my Tire Rack order if they were much cheaper haha Thanks for the help though.

nope they never were on their website that I saw either. But when i called them up, they gave me a price quote that was cheaper than I had seen anywhere else.

I'd at least check to see if you had a shop local to you and give them a call.

Because they're all season, H-rated tires. Duh. I recommended a set of those to my co-worker that has a Civic and they are quite happy with them.
