Anyone running a toyota CT26 turbo?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Just got a toyota ct26 toyota turbo from a supra. I was wondering where to tap into the water for the coolant lines from on a 95 240, also is there any chance that anybody might know what kind of power they are making at certain boost levels? Any info is appreciated. I was thinking of doing the upgrade many supra owners do wiyh this turbo. You bore out the compressor housing to the specs of a T04B 60-1 compressor wheel (Of course you would have to take it and have it balanced before running it) and you have your own custom hybrid that looks like the oem ct26 they say that the combo is good for 425 hp, but i dunno.

Yea there are a few ppl on this board with the CT26. If you want lots of help checkout http://www.board.mr2faq.com those guys are awsome. Some of the MR2 guys run that turbo without the water lines hooked up and dont report any problems so you could consider running without it.

I have a good deal of experiance with this turbo so email me if you run into trouble or need some parts for it. Here check out my old MR2 http://bulldog.unca.edu/~jmpersek/MR2.html

I'm using the ct26 on my sohc. It seems to be a decent match for the 2.4l at lower boost levels. It did give me about 15-16 psi the day my wastegate locked up on me. Luckily I realized what was happening and got out of the gas.

Not sure about the 95, but I tapped my coolant lines into the heater core lines. From what I understand, the upgrade is something like 5 or 6 hundred bucks for a 60 compressor wheel to be installed. Might as well buy a nice t3/4 at that point.

Thabks for the replies you guys. I was actually told you can take the compressor side to a machine shop and have it bored to match the new wheel specs, then get the compressor wheel from http://www.forcedperformance.net for 75.00 and then have it balanced at a turbo shop the ones around here charge like 20.00 to balance and youre ready to go. Thats what I was told though so dont take it from me because ive never tried it myself or met anybody that has.

I have not been able to find a shop that will high speed balence a turbo for less than 300. If anybody knows of someone who does this cheap, please let us know.

Yes upgrading the compressor is done all the time. Check the MR2 weboard above. One of my friends upgraded his on his autoX MR2.
