I have not heard of anyone performing that mod. Interesting idea, not sure if it really worth messing with. The biggest issue I see is that with the push button you have to step on the brake to start the ignition, you don't with the turn style.

Well, I think here in Canada the brake has to be pressed down for any car to start... I have not driven a car without the keyless start (button) for a while and I don't recall for sure... but I thought that the brake was required to start it...

I think I even drove a GMC Acadia in Key West FL the other day and I used the brake (not to say that it could have been second nature to use the brake as all my current cars are push button start)...

I'll have to take a look at this closer when I go in to look at this QX again...

I sure would like to find a way to change it over to push button start... this is the only infiniti left that doesn't do push button start....

I found this Link to a product (Thanks to another link in the M35/45 Forums here), I have not had any time to look into the details of how it would work; It seems close to what I would want.. I didn't understand the comments about turn ignition etc; so I will email the manufacture to see how that really works;

http://www.kptechnologies.com/products.php#/18

Either way is a $180 bucks, so it does seem very possible to make this change;

I have been back and forth with the guys at KP Technologies, and I have decided to not proceed with the keyless push button start update... They don't recommend taking out the turn key, and there is several other little things about how it interfaces that don't make it worth the effort for me to make this swap;

So I'm opting out of the change for that reason, the guys at KP tech were great know there stuff so no hesitation there... I just wanted a it to work more like my M35 and ML330cdi - other wise it was a waste of money/time and complexity that I didn't need..

I could not agree more, complete PIA for such a small benefit (if anything at all). I am just fine with the keyless twist start.
