I'm looking at making a complete v-banded exhaust system & that includes the cat so that I can swop it in & out of the car. Has anyone done this before & if so what internal diametre v-band flanges did you use for the cat?

If no-one's done it, does anyone know what the internal diameter of the S14a cat is? I'm guessing 2.5" or 3" but want to be sure.

I dont know why you would want to do this I can change my exhaust out very quickly (less than 20min) its just 4 bolts and a couple of hangers.

Keep this in mind...the 4 bolts for the pre cat pipe/cat/cat back...those pre align all of the pipes. If you were to use v bands they could rotate any which way by at least 2 pivot points making it more time consuming to align the precat/cat/and cat back.

its just a few bolts....

Since you're wondering, 2 words: simplicity & sealing. I've spent hours filing flanges flat enough to accept gaskets without leaking (limited in my tools) & failed my National Car Test on leaking exhaust several times thanks to that so I'm going it right this time & taking leaks (and gaskets) out of the equation altogether.

So has anyone any idea what the internal diametre is?
