Anyone have any racing seats in their 240SX they'd like to recommend. The sport compact car article said that most aftermarket seats are too high and because of the hump they don't fit right. They said they use R32 seats and don't have a problem with them but they're like impossible to find. They also said that JIC has seats that are pretty much the same and amazing. Anyone have any other suggestions or any other experience to back up that fact? I saw on Pimp my ride they took the bottom of a stock seat and welded it onto the top of a race seat but I'm trying not to do that much fabrication. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Heya rocksteady. Quick note of advice, take your sport compact car magazine, and all your back issues and throw them away, it'll rot your brain.

Now, back to the topic at hand. I have installed a GTR seat in my car, and I'm 6-1, and I'll tell you that I still have to ghetto lean the seat back to sit comfortably with a racing helmet on. Basically I measured it out and I'm going to fab my own rails which should allow clearance, as the stock seatrails are ungodly high.

I have an r32 seat in my car also, its not from the GT-R though, I'm like 6'2-6'3 ish and I have a good few inches of clearance from the roof of my car, 90 Fastback.

a very common upgrade is the installation of s14 seats into your s13. i believe three of the four mounting holes line up perfectly.

I kinda like SCC, they do have some good tech articles, like the last month's issue about suspension setups. It lays out the basics pretty well. It's probably the best import magazine around, it does a good job at least in staying away from "plaster a bunch of girls around the cars and call it a magazine" format, like Import Tuner.

^whiterps13: Correct, 3 of 4 line up but just pull the bar over about 1/8 inch and the 4th will line up. I have S14's in my S13. Another question about seats, has anyone sucessfully found a way to make them move back farther. If my driver seat is back all the way I still would like a little more leg room and it also pinches the seatbelt so it will not retract. Just thought I would throw that out there in case anyone has thought about it too. I am about 6' or 6'1" and I would just like a little more room so my leg dosent hit the wheel with the clutch out.

You must mean r32 gt-r seats. 3 out of 4 holes line up with those seats. s14 seats fit into an s14 perfectly with no modifications. Bucket seats will seat the lowest. I'm 5'10" and there is 7" of headroom with my Zeta III. 240's are designed for lito azian peepz haha

wait, you complained about SCC but didn't say anything about taking tech advice from Pimp My Ride? that show sucks and the 240 episode was probably the worst i've seen.

Brides sit pretty low but also cost a fortune. i think you can use bride rails on spearcos now for the same position. probably want to check that out though.

I have a Sparco Pro2000 and a Bride FG rail and it sits low. I don't have pics and probably won't for a while because my crap is torn apart.
