Didn't you just ask all these questions in another thread?
Tirerack actually suggests a 235 width tire on anything that is 17" - go back and check. They recommend a 225 on a 18" tire because of the sidewall.
Get the 235.
However, wider tires can cause more slip on wet conditions, or as your question asked, snow. There is more area for the water to come into contact with, causing more slippage in wet conditions. Are you really going to notice it with the change you are making? No. But it exisits. (why do high end sports cars that have enormous tires and light weights die in the rain?)
