The nub for the cam sensor broke off on my exhaust cam.. I tried for hours to get the sensor on the correct splines, but i cant get it right, best i can do is right above 20 deg advanced.. so I cant even give the car full throttle.

I think the splined piece may be actually twisted in the camshaft somehow (i guess they are pressed in)

Looks like the best option is to just replace it with a stock exhaust cam, Id rather just go to HALTECH, but dont have $1400 to spare at the moment.

If anyone feels there is a better solution for this... please let me know.

I snapped one off in an RB, looks just like a CA cam. I think they are part of the cam casting as I could find no part # or picture in the book showing it as a seperate peice. I don't think it is possible to twist it without it immediately snapping off. Hours? They fight but it shouldn't take an hour to line up. How do you know where the timing is falling at, you are shooting it with a timing light right? If it is an advance type check if it's zeroed out. I'm really not trying to insult you it just seems weird.

its a standard timing light

and ive checked with an advanced one, same thing

it might not show them seperate because they dont sell the parts seperately

from what i have heard they are pressed in.. i dont see how it could have rotated though

maybe the CAS is ****ed up as well... because i dotn really care so much that the little tab is broken, but i tried for a long time to get the splines to line up correctly and it would either get where it is too advanced... or way too retarded, i couldnt ever get it to go into the proper position

so all i know at the moment is my cam sensor is not working properly,

i cant get it to line up properly, in the only position it will run it is maxed out towards the retarded side

if you leave it sitting with no bolts, it works fine, but if you push inwards (like bolting it down) it sets the timing about 20deg more advanced...

at the moment i put a washer between the sensor and timing belt cover on one of the holes and that prevents it from advancing when it is bolted down

so i need a GOOD, working in perfect condition CAS...

anyone have one??
