I am wanting to give my 240 a paint job on a budget and I am fairly good with a rattle can so I was wondering if I could expect good results or not...

It will look like junk. Period. I've done it twice for track cars and it looks like crap. If you don't care about how it looks, rattle away. And "good with a rattle can" is hardly "good". I'm good with a fork too.

AFAIK its fine to primer your car by spraycan if thats what you mean.. but i dont think i'd go & try to actualy PAINT the car.

Yeah, primering is almost acceptable. Project Silvia is actually a flat black primer I believe. Primer actually sits smooth, etc, actual paint will not from a rattle can.

i painted my friends '79 camaro black with rattle can. stuff is called Magic Spray. benny's had a sale for $1 a can, and anyway, after all the sandpaper, and prep chemicals, we had a paintjob for something like $14.42. And while it isnt perfect, its way better looking than it was before and everyone we tell doesnt beleive it was done with spray paint. just make sure you tape everything off good and do a good prep job. use pleanty of wax remover and sand the whole thing down with like.. 600 grit and do the wax remover a couple more times, using new rags each time so you dont get the wax from before back on the paint.

get the back order of scc where they teach you how to use the paint from project silvia. ill admit, besides the graphics, that car looks damn good for the price.
