Anyone notice this lately?

Someone else probably posted similiar to this but lately, I have been noticing alot of bashing on threads and thats not funny! Everyonce in awhile, some new person join our forums, and innocently asks a question about 240sx which to some of us are very familiar with or some maybe even rice. Its all up the owner of the car what he/she does to their own car as long as it satisfies them no? People tend to be happy when they first do a motor swap, turbo their n/a car, puts in a bodykit, any kind of conversion and its all good as long as its good enough for them. Alot of members I noticed that joined after June 2003 or around just walltz in here and when someone asks somewhat of a rice question (not that I hate rice, I can really careless, a car is a car, fast car is a fast car, sleeper is still a sleeper car, show car is still a show car to me and it satisfies the owner of what they have achieved) alot of new members just jump the gun and say stuff like how you shouldnt be a owner of a 240sx or how your so ghey, or get out of this forum u ricer. Stuff like that just really bothers. I havent been a long member either compare to alot of people here but in the begining of this forum was very fun and people were kind to others but these days, its just not the same. Im sure alot of people who have been here since 2002 have noticed this.

I guess this thread has no point either.. wasting space but I just have alot in my mind these days and for some reason I tend to think over alot of small stuff.

people are welcome to bash on me or correct me or agree with me if they want, this is just how i feel.

A couple of months ago it had gotten really bad, but after a few members were on the edge of leaving b/c of it I guess the mods really cracked down on it and its been alot better since then, I havent really noticed to much bashing latley(either that or Ive gotten used to it so I dont really pay attention to it anymore). Im sure no matter what there will still be some ignorant people on here who like to flame on newbies, or just a question that was asked that they didnt like :rolleyes but Im sure theres a little bit of that on every board, you get used to it I guess.

Yeah, same here. The level of bashing a few months ago was absurd, it seems to have calmed a bit recently though. I think it is in part due to the fact that a number of the people who were relatively new and did the flaming left because... well I dunno... I guess they got tired of flaming here... I'm sure as hell not going to stand for stupid tuning, but I've slowly yet surely gotten to the point of tolerance of whatever tuning interests people, even if I think it completely pointless.

yeah it was real bad a little while back, its gotten a ton better. I love it hear on nico, lots of cool people.

You mean in the 240 section? Cause I don't see it over here in gen chat that much. I know I pretty much quit looking at the 240 section.

In my opinion it's turned into a place where stupidity and lack of good logic, research, and effort is totally accepted. Everyone starts threads about any number of topics, from your dog to your mother to your mortgage to your car (heaven forbid). Some of us prefer pure, true, exact information from people who are experienced. Just rifle through the last few months of threads, WORLDS of misinformation..........

As far as crazy threads and what not. This is general chat. So I feel it is just a good comunity meet place. Where you don't have to be as strict with the topics. I really would hate to see NICO turn into a strict no nonsence forum. That would just be no fun at all.

well i enjoy the general section becuz i get lots of laugh from it, especially threads which krazy skwerel and mr1der is in it (i think mr1der is in every single thread tho lol:)) but yeah i guess u can say that the bashing calmed down alot but still it just seems like alot of fights happening also between members. Im not particularly close with any members in this thread but i do konw that they are all very nice people with an exception of few

Here's the deal: As NICO gets bigger and bigger, there are inevitably gonna be disagreements, and I hope we're all mature enough to handle them appropriately. However, bashing noobs, regardless of how "dumb" their question seems, is not cool and won't be tolerated. We were all new at this stuff once, and if we can't reply with something useful, let's keep it to ourselves (I do it a lot... ).

I suppose my humble request, especially for those of you who have been around a while, would be to help police each other, and help answer questions (even dumb ones) to the best of your ability. It doesn't take much more effort to be nice (well, actually sometimes I get a cramp from it

) but you know what I'm saying.

We're on the verge of exploding in memberships, and we are preparing to make even more really cool changes to the site for you guys. We've got some big-name advertisers coming aboard, we're finally getting some attention from Nissan and Infiniti Corporate, and we're outpacing many FAR bigger-named sites in monthly hits. Plus, we have some TOP SECRET things happening now that are gonna ROCK when they come together!!!

Anyway, you guys are the backbone of NICO and the reason it exists. Keep up the great work, because your contributions and help are just as important as those of the Admins and Mods.

240 section just hurts my brain. I stopped posting there a long time ago. Every once in a while, i'll check the threads thru there, then my nose bleeds, then i go back to general chat

I just find it mind numbing. So I go through it very quckly. If a post catches my eye I respond. For the most part I avoid it. Nearly everybody I like to comunicate with is in NICO gen chat so it works out best for me.
