Like em? Hate em? Spent 44$ total includint bolts and a peice of flat steel. I welded the steel across the top and mounted teh lights to it...

then i aimed em and wired em and stuff... too about 2 hrs-2.5 hrs

let me know-im in process now of making polished "mirror" type backing to go behind/under them... they light up way better than my old h4's and have no glare. Its like havin HID - or as close as ive seen without being HID. Its even got the rainbowish edges on the light - anyways lemme know.

ALSO- I dont like how my tails turned out with white instead of amber... the whites too transparent... Im gonna try again, and if it sux im doin somethin else. Stay tuned! :P

They look AWESOME for what you've paid and invested in them. A DIY would be great!

How hard would it be to move the lights out more so they would be less recessed in the housing? Would that even be doable/practical?

I think a little fiberglassing around the lights would complete the whole look.

:Thumbs Up:

what are you going to use for brights??

fog lights are not that direct so you might have a hard time at night seeing.

~Wonders if he bought "actual foglights" or just calling auxillary driving lights foglights like so many people do?~

I don't know, but what im really interested in is how he fabricated the mounts. I'd use hid's or some halogen projectors.

Yeah, after some more pics/nighttime pics, do a write-up! (but if there's welding involved...I guess I can cancel even attempting it).

you dont gotta weld-u can use machine screws instead of tack welds -- im actually gonna change mine ot little bolts... and i took some evening pics, and they're el cheapo lights, but they've been on a few days and the visibility is AWESOME... 2 point straight and forwards, the other 2 slightly lower and down... its BRIGHT too! you'll love the pics at night... Ill post em after lunch... and I'll post a DIY on it - ill write it up now - then add pics later

As for glassing the insides... I started to cut and bend some sheet metal for that... but now im thinkin glass is better. I'll get on that tomorrow... I hafta go out to dinner tonight and wont get to work on any cars.

ill make a cardomain page today too... shouldnt be busy - all the nerdy IT buyers are in line for Ep3 tix :P - I got mine

just so yas know im working on teh DIY

its a site im making for all the diy stuff im doing... Tails, headlights, making your own brackets for AC, PS etc to fit SR. Also, I have 3 different wiring methods so that you guys can have your lights go on/off the way you want... rather than the way mine are (so you can pick for yourself)

Also, I cut up my old fender plastics... sprayed em black and then pop riveted em to the inside of the headlight cage (i put slits in the left side for air to get through) - and wire tied teh bottom of it forward so no light can get through to the ground behind th ebumper (the tiniest bit was before-and it bugged me) Just wanted to give yas teh heads up-i should have it all ready by today

tmw is sema so hopefully

everyone says JOHNNY 5! my dads all wtf... ur car looks like short circuit, then he starts bitchin that theres still a car with no motor sitting here and the fridge is outta beer that HE provides us

anyways... i sent some night pics to people over AIM, and my DIY is finished except teh wiring part... I'm putting multiple ways u can wire it... for those of you that may want to use those halo lights (use one light on and the other halo'd )

as far as legality... they're 55W 12V H3 bulbs... and they're way WAY better than the stock ones i had in there... so legal or not-they're better than i had with the factory original ones. And i have an SR, no cat, no metal bumper in front etc... so legal isnt something my cars ever gonna be
