Anyone knows anything about INS stuff?

I know of an International Student working illegally and I want to get her kicked out of the USA. Story is long, so i wont even bother telling.

i tried to report her to school, but my school is gay that the INS advisor told me "what do you want me to do?" "there is nothing i can do" "the INS is more occupied with other things like terrorism than to care about this small matter"

so what else can i do?

The INS no longer exists, it was rolled into DHS. USCIS, as Rex pointed out, is the successor agency. However, I'm pretty sure that visas are issued by the Department of State anyhow. If this person is here on a student visa, and not a work visa, and has violated the scope of the student visa in that way, I would suspect that wouldn't warrant a deportation - but who knows these days.

INS use to only come out for a bus load. One person was a waste of their time. Now homeland sec has them tied up on other "important" things.

Tracking international criminals domestically is, i would say, more the province of the FBI, or local law enforcement, if so inclined. As far as their prosecution, that would be a matter for the DOJ. The scope of the INS, to my knowledge, was civil admistration of immigrants and their naturalization process - and perhaps visas, though I'm not sure if that wasn't State - and adminstrative hearings. If it weren't so late, i might look for the INS enabling statue.

well just that she is my ex-roommate, who i disliked toward the end of our rooming experience, and then last week or so, she sent me an email saying that i am not using my own money for my education and that i am wasting my parents' money because i had some bad grades that i had to retake, blah, blah, blah, so she pissed me off even more after we moved out. i never said anything like that to her, but she came out and said such things? wtf?

so since she is so proud of her illegal work, i thought reporting her should teach her a lesson

I def feel you on the whole hating your roomate situation.. had that happen to me.. i hated this kid.., it was borderline violent.. but instead of fighting i pranked him all the time.. made me sleep better at night.. damn, but i never thought of trying to get him deported!

Funny thing is that now days, even thought there is tension we can be civil and have put some of that stuff behind us..

moral of the story and life lesson which you should get from the above story is - fight her (preferbly thru mud/oil/jello wrestling and make sure to film it and post in here in NICO) and laterwatch the friendship grow

I say most of that deserves deportation, if not an adding smacking. But be careful, if you try and fail to deport her, and she finds out--she seems like the vindictive kind and you wouldn't want her to mess with you or your stuff. Basically, if you're gunna try to deport her, don't warn her or even give an inclination to your plans. Self-preservation surpasses a little revenge.

Why don't you just continue to ignore her, and just forget her existence? Be grown up about the matter, and do the civil thing. From what you've mentioned, it doesn't seem like she's given you any physical or emotional abuse(unless you're weak-minded). I don't really see any reason to retaliate now that you've severed connections with her.

sure it is harsh and not a grown up thing to do, but you know? that isnt ur life, u didnt have to live with her for 15 months and put up with her never cleaning, moved out without telling me while i was on vacation, even took things with her that didnt belong to her when she moved out. you didnt have to put up with her racist a55 every single day, to have her say 5hit to your face all the time even though u told nicely told her not to, she kept pushing your button, and u tolerated that the whole time, thinking everything is fine once u dont live with her, but no, she still has to come back into your life and say some crap.

haha..i probably wouldnt be doing anything if she were American, but no, she is privileged to be here, and she is violating that privilege as if she is a better person than everyone else, so no, i'd say until i am not feeling stressed about that (which might take some time), i am not just gonna sit there and let crappy people walk all over me, say some crap to me, or even tell me what to do.
