anyone know why my motor has no blow off valve and 2 FPR's?

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

Its true I have a RB20 out of a laurel and it obviously donsent have a blow off valve cause, it dosent even have the spot for one on the intake pipe.

It also has 2 fuel pressure regulators on both ends of the fuel rail.. what up with that homie!?

anyway im replacing the turbo and getting a fuel rail and putting a BOV on so it really dosent matter, but i thought it was strange.

one of those FPR's is probably a fuel dampner to absorb pulses from the fuel pump.

as for no blow off valve, ill have to see pictures too.

I remember reading something about certain RB20's not having them.. must have been the laurel's. Very controversial subject on the aussie skyline forums..

Laurel and Cefiro RB20s did not have BOVs, the twin fuel pressure regulator is a kouki/zenki thing, early/late model. I have been told that the Skyline Type-M RB20 is supposed to be more powerful but I have yet to find solid evidence for that, in documentation or street use.

One is a fuel dampener, the other a real FPR.

THe Cefiro has better duration cams, as in 240/240 instead of 232/232. I believe I have a Cefiro as the car was previously automatic, and had a Cefiro ecu and maf. Don't know if there are markings on the cams, but I'd be happy to pull off a valve cover again to check.

its because of the skyline having a more free flowing exhaust system and ecu tuning is different
