If I accelerate hard in my 240sx then come to a stop or put the car in nuetral the tach goes down to like 100 rpms and sometimes the engine just stalls... Heres some info.... It's a 91 240sx se. I just rebuilt the engine and it has about 1500 miles on it. It's stock except for CAI. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Kyle

maybe you need a tune-up? you just rebuilt the engine so im assuming you probly got new plugs/wires/cap/rotor.

my car was stalling a lot, and a tune up fixed my problem

Yeah new plugs, cap and rotor. I should probably clean the air filter or get a new one but if I drive it like a sane person I have no problems. Also sometimes when I press the brakes the rpms drop to about 500. Part of the reason I need to get it fixed is that I need to get my tags renewed and apparently my hydrocarbon numbers are to high. So it also has a slight misfire at around 2500rpms. So..............................

Yeah tune it up, Clean the MAF with MAF cleaners, Clean the throttle body and IAC, and check your hoses.

Alright I will. Also would the EGR valve being dirty cause the emissions test to have a high hydrocarbon reading?

this corrected a lot of my stumbling problems. theres a hose you remove on your intake while running and you spray cleaner into while keeping the throttle open. do some searching on iacv and you should find the writeup.
