Does anyone know the going rate of a banged up, or less than great condition, GTR R34? I'm looking for one IN Japan...because I live here.

Any reason you want a R34? You can find decent shape 32's and 33's for the same price as banged up 34's. If you really want a beat up 34 talk to someone that works at the auto hobby shop on base. Someone there will probably be able to help you get one at auction. Car auction is the best place to get cheap beaters that you can fix up. If you fell that you don't have to have GTR than GTS-T's are cheap all over the place.

i also live in Japan, about 2 hours north of Misawa and have a number of friends stationed there.

I own a R34 GTR in the US, and have previously owned 3 other GTR's in the states before that.

If you want to look for used cars in Japan, I recommend brushing up on your hiragana and katakana first and foremost, and then installing Google Toolbar in Internet Explorer or just using the Google Chrome browser as both will automatically translate from any language back into English for you. Then visit:

http://www.goo-net.com (like the autotrader of Japan)
http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp (like eBay of Japan)

To answer your question, you are looking at about $20k USD or more for a R34 GTR in Japan. I wouldn't get a "beat" one though because when they break they are EXPENSIVE to fix, and even just to maintain.

Hit me up if you want to get together with other GTR owners in the Misawa area. Email me at yum vtec at hotmail dot com and I can give you my cell.
