Wiseco has some 10.5:1 which you should be able to use with 93 octane. Other than that, they could build you some customs if you are dead set on 10:1.

Yeah, I'm almost positive that they don't make anything 10:1 for the KADE. You would have to have some custom pistons made. Or you could probly get close to 10:1 if you get the 10.5:1 Wisecos, and then run a thick headgasket. I don't now if you could bring it all the way down to 10:1 though. That takes math that I'm too lazy to do.

Your best bet is to get any of the 10.5:1 CR pistons. Then you will want to get a copper gasket or a multilayered to raise the hiegth a bit lowering your cr.Get all the math calibrations taken care of at a macine shop to get your CR.Then you can have a machine shop gouge (fly cut the pistons) to the recomended cr that you want. Fly cutting wouldn't be bad either, because then you could run a much more aggressive lift on the cam specs.

Another combination you can try is a NAPSZ piston....I believe a buddy of mine inferred that it is around a 10.1CR

I don't know if I'm just not getting this or what, but what is NAPSZ? Is that the name of a company?

It refers to the old Nissan/Datsun motors in the trucks, 510s, etc...

The Japanese motor industry had grown at a rate of 24% annually up until 1973 and now huge numbers of vehicles were on the road in Japan. The Government decided at that time to introduce some legislation to control the ever-increasing pollution levels. This led Nissan to research methods of reducing harmful emissions and using catalysers for exhaust systems. This work would lead to the implementation of the NAP-Z or Nissan Anti Pollution System in 1977. This was fitted to virtually all domestic models and consisted of a catalytic converter along with exhaust gas recirculation. Much of the NAPS technology was also used on American models through this period.

First off, thanks to Orion for doing that search. That is some class with out the flamage.....Like the article that Orion brought up NAPSz is nothing more but implementation of OBD smog equipped vehicles brought to the U.S market. What I should of mentioned was the NAPS-Z 24, otherwise known as the Z24 and z24i. This engine was produced from mid 1985-till 1989 when it saw it's demise to the KA. KA and NAPSZ share alot of the same internals. Bore and stroke are identical, the bottom ends, and the coolant passages are pretty much the only engineering difference between the 2.z24i and KAE share only one main difference in there piston design. The NAPSZ had fly cut's, while the KAE (1990) came with just a flat surface, or the pre (1989) that had the raised piston dish of .020.The need for the fly cuts was for the really low CR of the NAPS motors, horrible compressions between 8.3:1 and 8.9:1 depending on the displacement of the engine.Installing any of the SOHC pistons will raise the CR, (just like the KAE pistons (1990 of course) to an 11.1CR on DOHC engines, the NAPSZ are pretty similar accept for the fact that they have fly cut's.

Blacks13 noticed that you live in Chico cali, I was born there and have alot of friends out there. I'll hit you up when I get into town and help you with your engine if you need it.... I shure hope that you never go to that shop next door to the Burger Hut and 4star liquors, there Silvia front end kits are a rip off... Infact there whole store is a rip.......

I found some JE *89.5mm Bore - 11.0:1 CR pistons, no you're not looking into any more, just letting you know. So if you decide to change your mind. I've also been looking for some forged pistons.

What would happen if you used a thicker head gasket. It should drop the compression from 10.5 but idk what to.
