Summit sells VHT Niteshades which works well but the bodyshop tinted clear looks the best. Pic below is VHT.

i used the vht night shades on my headlights. it came out great but the painting conditions were perfect. thats what makes the dif. and the good thing about painting them is its removeable! well i guess you could still clear tint them with out scuffing them, but clear is a beyatch to remove.

yeah, you hit this site and BAM you got smoked lights. it can be done by body shops but, the tinting process is delicate.

the night shades stuck to the plastic corner lenses, cant see why clear wouldnt, but im not a body guy. the only bad thing about night shades was its real dark to get the nice look. nothing hids or leds can handle!

I used the VHT Night Shades. Did it in a garage after I masked everything off, then I put a nice coat of spray clear over it. Looks great and cost less than 25 dollars. The body shop tinted clear doesn't sound too bad, though...

can the vht nightshades be removed if you mess it up. i mean can you scruff out the tint and make the tails back to the origianl color and then start again??or are you screwed and need to buy new tails if you mess up?!!

well since no one really answered my question... i had to figure it out on my own.you can use paint thinner to remove the vht night shades spray. i just removed mine this weekend and it left them the same as before the tint. i got stopped by chp and i need to have a cop sign the ticket off once i removed the tint. but as soon as that gets signed im ordering the tint this time from vinyl overlays

Can we post DIYs from say another site? There is a decent section of this mode know as the DTM(Dallis Tailight mod) but I will give a breidf overview from what I can remember....

This is for maximas pretty much... but can be applyed to anything if you use some common sense....

Tools Needed:

8mm Deep SocketPhillips head screw driverFlat head screw driverHeat Gun (optional)Gloves for hot ovenneedle nose PliersHammer would not hurt to haveKnife or prying tool

1.Remove tails2.Preheat oven @ 3503.stick them in for about 10 mins(you can use a heat gun but is is really long and you could damage the lens while trying to take them apart do to the glue recuring on one side.

4.Take them out and pry them evenly until they come apart.5.leave the artcylic glue on there for putting them back together later on.6.Take off the Amber plastic piece laying inside the lens.7.Buy some black plastic spray paint.8.Paint the lens inside.9.go in reverse order to put back together including putting them in the oven again to reheat the glue or use a heat gun.

These are the more efective ways of doing the DTM(Tint, spray on the outside ETC), However this is one of the better longer lasting ways if done right and if too much paint is used or done wrong it will look like crap.

i sent all my lights to smokin lights .net but i dont see them any more on the internet... sucks. they dont do headlights and im a daily driver with hids but didnt need the p-man attention. bodyshops do the best job cause you can wax em and if they scratch you can use polish to clean up. besides they can use any color cause it is tinting which means just a little color to the clear

The Altezzas have a lens cover that you can pull off and do whatever you want without masking. They are held on with a black rubber adhesive.

The proper way to do it is to mix the desired color with some clear coat. The amount of clear coat will determine how dark of a tint it gets.
