I'm trying to look up some stuff to see if an S13 ECU will work on my U12 motor. It appears that the AAC valves from the MT S13 are the same as the AAC valves from the automatic U12, which is what motor I got. So I'm good there, but one of my concerns is that the S13 ECU wont have a trigger to turn fans on since its a clutch fan car.

why dont you just run an electric fan with a switch?

Just buy an aftermarket thermostatic fan controller. You're going to make more work for yourself than actually needed.

^Ditto. I got mine at Advance Auto. It had outputs for 2 electric fans and an override for the A/C. The sensor attached to the radiator close to the water inlet. $39.99

BTW AWDB12wagon, you have mail.

do you have a part number for that switch. I have been trying to find one of those for years.

Yeh, I thought about those thermostatic switches, but my dad has one from advance auto parts and it kicks on all the time while the car is off and such. I guess he doesn't have his hooked to a switched power source though. You'd be hard pressed to find a switched power source under the hood, except for something that needs the power like the injectors, or coil packs. I have the resistors on the way for the injectors too...I was just looking stuff up in Nissan Fast JP and I couldn't figure out how to get it into english mode completly, its partialy in english, but then not.

BTW, 50/50 I haven't recieved an e-mail from you.

Can't be done.

And to even be able to translate from the katakana to engrish you'll need to run a Japanese version of windows (or so is my experience).. I run Win98J in a vmware box.

Most of the sensors /gizmos work similarly even if not exactly the same. Almost all solenoids etc are going to be operated the same way.

I would be more worried about having the wrong MAF for the ECU, and wrong sized injectors (not sure if they're the same?). I'm running my fan off the stock US (at least on 89s) AC fan switch that comes on at 198*F.. I have a cool little vw switch that is dual stage and come on at a lower temp for the first stage, but haven't gotten around to getting a new pipe made with the right size hole (this thing has a funky thread) and then draining the coolant to install it, etc.

My fans almost never come on tho, in part due to having the giant Koyo KA radiator.. combined with the OEM water/oil heat exchange I'm actually overcooling my oil on the highway when just cruising on cooler days

One of these days, I'll get around to taking off the oil cooler and going back to normal uncooled oil.. it's OEM for europe and auto Japanese versions, but not manuals in Japan.. and was never meant for such a massive radiator that cools even with no water flow (thermostat closed)

Why dont you just get a thermostatic portion for the oil cooler, that way it doesnt open the coolant untill it reaches a predetermined temp?
