Taking final pieces off of parts car and would like to remove the ignition and lock sets since my ignition is getting a little sticky. I've got all trim removed from the steering column. I can see two little indentations (on top and bottom) of the cylinder that look like you'd press them in to pull the cylinder out, but can't get it to go. I've checked FSM and done a search here and haven't found anything to help.

Any ideas?Thanks,Paul

Have done some reading..... and it looks to me that theres nothing in the FSM and nothing on here (you have already determined this)

What I would do, is give T3 a call...... Theyll usually asnwer these kinds of questions... You could probably ask byron..... Contact information is on the Q45.org resource page...

Wes and Larry,Thanks. Talked to Ty at T3. The studs that hold it to the column are breakoff bolts that can be extracted by cutting a slot in the top of them with a Dremmel type tool and then using a screwdriver. I'll give it a try. Thanks for your help.Paul

Those break-away bolts can be removed by drilling them. Just drill the bolt heads with a smaller bit - then get progressively larger until the "heads" come off. The bottom "u" will fall away. Then you can remove the cylinder and unscrew the rest of the bolt.

You can reinstall it with new bolts (allen cap heads) or maybe new break aways. I think these instructions came with the new lockset...
