that aluminum idea seems the easiest and cheapest... you could use an aluminum shaft and u bolts to hold it to the seat and the seat acts as a shock absorber for the camera

whatever you say, this isnt driving in a parking lot with orange fukn cones... this is a 15mile canyon with hairpins, a 300ft drop on one side and a solid mountain on the other... the whole road is about 10ft wide, so even if i could go over 40 id rather stay at 40 so that i could control my vehicle on those hairpins and for if another car comes the other way on the narrow road...

Dang...id I had to drive near cliffs I would probably go 15 mph TOPS.

OP...in car videos are cool, but only when you are A) Drifting or B) Crashing.

And A should be done on a track, B, if it's your fault, should only happen on a track.

Therefore, The movie you are trying to remake might not come out as cool as you think it will.

I used to go on rides like this about twice a month when I had my motorcycle. They can be a lot of fun, and its a good chance to really refine your skills as a driver. Theres usually great scenery, and sometimes a stop at an out of the way restaurant. Its about technical driving, not powersliding and oversteering. In the motorcycle community theres a lot of jealousy directed at those who live in southern California, because in a lot of other places all there is to do it go to a track or red light drags. In SoCal, you can have a blast in your car and never have a need to break the speed limit. Sorry you guys live in the lands of straight roads. OP, have fun and be safe.

3' aluminum tube from Lowe's, drill some holes, stick some bolts n nuts thru. Done. $15 for material. If paranoid, add some velcro to secure the camera to the bar
