Anyone know how the vct solenoid operates on the RB25?

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

Another things we are trying to figure out. I tried looking around, but wasn't able to find out much. I am trying to find out when the selenoid starts to work and what rpm it shuts down at?

I have heard it switches on after 1050rpm and lasts until 4500rpm, then turns off under heavy loads.

Can anyone confirm this?

Alright I might have to dig a little deeper on this one. I hear a number of different settings for this. Carl does what I heard sound about right or what StricNyne said?

What you posted sounds like what I have read in the past and is in line with what I've experienced. The PFC's standard setting for the solenoid is 4700 rpm. I believe that is when it disengages.

Thanks Darius. It sounds like we are just going to set it up from 1050-4700rpm.
