Long story, but the short version is that my vert just got a new playmate. I picked up a 1995 240SX SE over the weekend. Pearl White, but with a busted bumper cover. Off to JHOT Imports I go, as they had them at a very happy price.

As I was leaving I asked if they had any spring and strut sets. They had a set of RSR Springs with GAB adjustable struts (4 way adjustable in the front, 8 way adjustable rear). The guy at JHOT said they might be a bit stiff. Does anyone have experience with these springs? I also wonder how much different they are in a vert than in a hatch. That's what the other guy had experience with is in the hatch that was stripped down. Well for 75 bucks for the set, I had to go ahead and pick them up. About another 5 days or so before the vert will be on the street.

Here are a couple pics of the 95 now in the driveway...

You really like 240s. Congrat on your new purchase. I did a lot of research on springs and RSR springs are high end ones. They are linear springs which many people prefer. Drop will not be that much though, but perfomance wise they should be really good compare to other springs. I've seen GAB full page ads in Option and Drift Tengoku, so they are not a small company in Japan I guess. I heard from many people saying that there's not much difference between coupe, hatch and vert, so you can have them on your car with no problem. I don't know how old the springs are, but $75 is a good deal. If struts are not blown, pick them up. New struts(AGX) and springs combo will cost about $450+.

Great price on the springs, they are not cheap springs. If that price was for both struts and springs, you got an incredible deal.

RSR lower a medium amount, and I have heard they are very stiff - usually too stiff for street/DD applications. Like jar the **** out of you when you hit a bump stiff.

That was the price for both springs and struts. They did suggest perhaps using the GAB Struts with a set of Eibach or Tein springs, and give the RSR's for use on a track oriented car.

Here are a couple pictures of the new (to me) bumper cover on the car. Everything is just set in place. I still have to tweak the rebar a little for everything to fit properly. I also have to remove the foglight, as it fits in a different place on that bumper cover. Sadly I'm thinking about going back for a coilover set that they have there when I make the next trip down. Really should finish one car at a time... Oh well.
