So my old roommate does a bit of house flipping from time to time.

He came across a house that was being turning into a horseshoe shaped music studio (read weird and unfinished) with something left in it I was interested in.

This thing looks old, but I'm not too sure. It has absolutely no identification markings on it what-so-ever. Anyone familiar with older Hookahs?

I know its pretty old (maybe 70's??) but honestly I know nothing about it.

It needs a little work, hopefully I can get it restored, cleaned, and maybe even use-able.

DON'T RESTORE IT. DON'T EVEN TOUCH IT MUCH.

Haven't you ever seen Antiques Roadshow??? Doing anything to it will probably ruin it's value.

I have a house in central Virginia with tons of antiques in it; Family heirlooms from 200 years ago and such.

Thats true, I never thought of that.

Its clear someone already tried, because one of the neck things have been soldered (Thanks Datte) back on, and the other one (not pictured) is missing.

Maybe I'll try to get it appraised. I didn't even think it could be worth something.

Hmm....lol

You know, the rod-stem looks in good shape, how about you try and find a new pot for the bottom and just clean out the inside good? It will probably help.

Its in excellent condition actually. Minus the top is showing some wear where the top part slides onto it.

The whole setup is in pretty good condition considering how old it looks.

I just need to find someone who knows ANYTHING about these so I can figure out how old it is.

It is definitely cool just as a conversation piece either way.

I would say the hookah is from Jordan or Syria. It looks old but honestly its probably not. You can find these from time to time for close to 30-$45.

Heres a similar one that I saw someone sell.

What to do with it? Use it for decoration or get rid of it. Do not smoke out of it...

Looks like it'd be a pain to clean. Can't really tell from the pic, but it looks like the stem probably doesn't come apart.

Haha IF u can smoke that hookah and not cough your life out ill pay you. This hookah is used for dry tobacco use only and if i were you i would use it as decor. If you need any hookahs feel free to email me i can get you some real good stuff or point you to the ones that are good. I am Persian Armenian and well i used to run a hookah bar so i know a few things.

Ps they used to put opium on top of the tobacco for these kind of hookahs so yuppp.

It depends on what type of tobacco you smoked. Some brands are made differently and contain more nicotine. If you smoke something lighter like the tobacco I make or Starbuzz you shouldn't get a headache.

What hookah lounge did you own? My family owns Social Smoke and we distribute/manufacture almost everything for the hookah.

Multi hose hookahs aren't practical, in my humble e-pinion, and huge hookahs are for decoration anyway.

I guess I'll try something like these next time I feel like getting it out of the closet. Probably few springtime or late summer nights.
