anyone know anything about "ISO" mean for spark plugs???

ok.. I got a new set of NGK BKR7EIX-11.... which ppl told me to get for SR20DET.... and my car runs like ****.... miss fire so bad.... I went to some Japanese shop, they said for SR20DET should only use spark plugs with is ISO approve or whatever... which Greddy plugs is ISO... is it ture??? and my coil packs has crack on it... seems like the spark is jumping out from the side of coil... will it be the problem with miss fire??I live in Canaday Vancouver.. and no one can fix the problem.... anyone can help?????

FWIW, ISO is the International Organization for Standardization (blame the French for it not being IOS). You'll see stuff that says it meets ISO 9001 - that just means that the manufacturing facility meets certain criteria for quality set by ISO.

Basically, any big-time, professional manufacturing facility will meet ISO 9000-series criteria. I think the shop is trying to tell you not to buy some shady cheapo plugs manufactured god knows where under abyssmal conditions.

wow... you are good!!!! thanks alot!!!well... I found out my coil packs got some crack on it.. then I started the car and took out the coil and check.... I see sparks jumping out from the side of the coil.... will that be the problem for miss firing??sorry, my english suck...

yes, that is almost definately a problem! get a new coil pack. I'm not sure if that would lead to miss-firing, but tht is a serious problem. And I'm not too sure about everything with the sr20's b/c I don't have one but having a cracked coil is NOT GOOD.... get a new one and see if that fixes your problem. Hope this helps!

Man... that's gonna cost some! >< anyone heard of or use splitfire coil pack for red top SR20DET??any common on those?
