Anyone try these out? I was picking up my rotors at a Land Cruiser/FJ Cruiser cusom off road shop and they showed me these lights. Construction felt really solid with metal housings. Since I'm still short of a grille guard I was thinking about getting a set and mounting them on the Safari Rack.

Dont you want 100watt + bulbs for your offroading bulbs?? Always thought spotter lights were insanely high wattage

Wattage is moot point.

Well for cargo basket lights you should probably go with lamps with the widest possible beam pattern. For brush guard lights, or driving lights, you generally go with a smaller beam angle to light the road ahead. I'm not sure of the beam pattern/angle on the Hellas tho.

Hella makes good stuff tho. I'm sure they're well built well and can withstand quite a bit.

Also, it's pretty sweet that they have a halo. That would look pretty badass at night with four of those on the cargo basket. Just sayin.

They have a "Pencil Beam" and "Driving Beam" version, I wonder how wide the driving beam pattern is. I've got a feeling it's too narrow to be a flood.

I will admit, today I goofed. I was on a really dark road (the only section of road around here that I actually use my highs). I had my high beam on, and I saw an oncoming car... for some reason, I fumbled, and instead of pulling the switch arm to take it off high, i pushed... which obviously does nothing, since it's on high. The guy passing me flashed me... despite the fact that we were on a curve, meaning he was in my beam pattern for all of three seconds.

I know, what I'm about to say is going to make me look like an a**... but I'll say it anyway.

I want to put on some (really powerful) aux lamps on the front guards. I don't do any off-roading. The sole purpose of the lamps are for the idiots that think they need to drive with their high beams on. Then, I'll show them some REALLY bright lights to help their vision, since they think blinding other people is worth it.

I do deliveries in the evening, and it never fails... always some idiot driving with their highs on. The worse is when we're both at a stop light and facing each other... GAH.
