im looking to get a new ka24de motor because mine blew a rod . i live in GA anyone know where i can get one

How many miles were on the motor?

I'd say post in the Nissan Parts forum under Classifieds, there's always someone selling a KA motor on there.

155xxx blew 2 rods driving it to the shop because it was making noises had it for 4 days the engine was covered by a warranty luckily so i am trying to find out about how much the policy will get me to find out if ill be able to make the sr20det swap with out really costing me anything he he. i havent been able to find any new stock ka but found some sr's for 2-2.5 k with trans

I don't think you can buy them new, I know places where you can get used and restored Ka motors.

Of course you can buy them new. Around $7000 from Nissan

im trying to convince the insurance company it costs x amount so i get x amount to put towards the sr remanufactured would be just as good just trying to find a price

A dealership can get you a new motor...like me... a 93 motor *I think is the best ka24de* goes for 4828.65 with head and all except for transmission. for just the short block its 2258.08. Not bad prices for a brand new one but for about 3200 you can get a completely built ka ready for forced induction via phat-kat and their **** is NICE.

Or you could put that money into a built KA-T, as suggested, and beat the crap of your would-have-had SR See how much insurance gives you then go from there...
