I'm just curious if anyone is interested in a OBDII support for our cars?

Not going to happen. You cant turn water into wine, unless youre Jesus.

actually its already a reality. Their some dudes on http://www.msefi.com that are releasing the Digidash with the ability to have OBDII. Its $248 for MSII and $367 for the display.

If you guys want more info I'll post up the links.

WHAT!? lol damn thats cool! But why would I want to do this? Then that would mean that i would have to take my car to the emissions testing facility! Here in Illinois there is no more testing of 95 and older vehicles.

I could see how for diagnosing problems it would make it a hell of a lot easier if you know what youre doing but a typical JDM (we'll use my engine) CA18DET doesnt have much emissions equipment. OBD-II is all about emissions. How would you get around that?

What other benefits would this give you? Sounds like you'd have to use a full-standalone computer with a bunch of other extra components.

If you can post the info, id like to know more.

Well thats the beauty of open source, it doesn't have to be just for emissions. The OBDII interface could be for anything even to trick the emissions people :D for the people who may have emissions testing issues.

Heres the thread about it, the end of the thread is where all the goodies are about.
