Word. I hope you like the aftermarket version better than the OE. I like the OE but the screen is not as bright of colors as I'd like.

Just a fair warning to potential buyers. The electonics of the OE nav system is not a plug and play. The main harness is very different between nav and non-nav vehicles. Either some serious wiring work will need to be done or the proper main harness will need to be purchased and installed into the car.

To the OP. You might consider using the existing nav screen as a secondary display for the stereo. Most decks with built-in screens have the ability to output to a second source. You could easily display video on the OE nav screen while displaying the navigation on the deck itself. If I were ever inclined to replace the stock system with a nav equipped stereo, this is probably the route I'd take.

+1. Two screens ftw. Post up pics when you get that baby installed. I want to see how it looks.

what does the connection to the DVD-ROM drive look like? Is it a normal computer type SATA, IDE connection?

Not trying to kill your sale, but I spoke to Tony at Riverside Infiniti. He told me that some poor sap tried installing the NAV on a non-nav vehicle and never finished the conversion because of the labor involved. I think he spent close to or over a grand in parts to get it to work and it never did.

Maybe somebody knows a better way?

That may be so, but anyone who is familiar with wiring diagrams and knows how to splice a wire should be able to fabricate a harness. I know of at least one person on G35Driver who has done so.

Oh, and no worries. It's already been sold.
