Myself and Q-Ship went to ABC/Greenleaf recyclers in Leominster MA today and had a blast, we found a nice almost platinum Q with a complete shamoo interior, it needs some cleaning but was in good shape, the door panels had no rips, the back seat was good, headliner was also nice as well as the dash, only thing you would not be able to use is the carpet, I purchased a full antenna, 93 TCU,a front drivers side door seal, a turbo manifold for a freinds 850 turbo Volvo and a cargo net, Q-Ship purchased a sweet black and grey glove box, a perfect Q front emblem, and a cargo net, we also grabed a few other little goodies, the yard is very organized and they have a good staff, the yard has recently closed to the public due to abuse of the cars, however he let us walk around and it was great we found soo much stuff that it was like being in a candy store, also every last Q had a FPC still installed in the trunk, the diffs were also placed in the trunkson 3 of the cars, they used to have about 20 Qs at all times, but because of space issues most of theme had to be crushed:( anyway the TCU is perfect, car shifts nice and crisp and not having to shift into 1st at each stop light is a beautiful thing.

Okay, call me not in the know but what is a shamoo interior and what is a FPC???

I love yards like that, there was a Z yard in Phoenix (AZhitman you know it?) where i used to go out and just look for Maroon 84 parts when I had an hour to kill, fun stuff to look for good parts and cring when you look at the bash and crash of cars just like yours.

The Shamoo interior is the best I think interior Infiniti put into the earlier Qs, its white and black, kinda like Shamoo:) FPC= fuel pump controler. 1992Q45A has some pics of the interior.

We held a small service for the Qs that didnt make it:D They had some really good looking cars for a recycler, a few A models, 1 T, and the rest are of the standard variety.

Shamu was a black and white killer whale (orca) that lived at Sea World in California in the late 60's. The black and white 90-92 Q interior is often called Shamu.

And with the best of good natured apologies to quicksr, Shamoo is a rare cross between a whale and a cow. I told you guys genetic engineering was a dangerous thing.....

LOL! Now I feel like whipping out the Photoshop... :D

I wonder how hard it is to keep Shamu clean? Black leather tends to become unattractive very quickly when it starts to crack and crease. I wonder if white is any worse?

Jesda: Shamu is hard to keep nice but worth a little extra care.I had it, actually its more an off-white like a cream color with teh Anthracite.

Well, that's a worthwhile clarification because I thought the Shamu color scheme referred to any dark/light combination on the early Q45. Definitely one of their enduring charms.

anyone with the shamu interior will soon refer to it as the "shampoo" interior, once they see how difficult it is to keep looking good!
