anyone in the jewelry buying business?

hi im looking for some input and ideas..

i have a white gold 18k with diamonds pendant necklace. like new.

does anyone know of any places that would offer cash for something like this? mail or local.

my problem is that the gold buying places will only pay for gold and diamond places will only pay for diamonds.

without an appraisal just by a quick glance at kay jewelers i was told it retails at or a little over $3000. and they were offering to buy it for a trade in credit, however the credit would only be able to be used for a gold and diamond jewelry piece. which is not something i am interested in. i was looking for either cash for obvious reasons or just a gift card that can be used for any item in the store.

does anyone deal with anything like this or know any place that i would be able to get information or have any friends or relatives in the jewelry business?

Maybe get a professional appraisal and put it on ebay?

It is tough to get rid of luxuries like that in this economy. I took some of my old gold to one of those places buying gold and they hardly offered me anything for it. I just said to heck with it and put it in the safe. It will hold it's value better than anything I would have bought with the money.
