so I crashed my qx4 =( I'll post a pic soon it's not too bad but bad enough for my insurance to total it out. Basically a car spun on the freewayand the car in front of me slammed into it and I couldn't stop in time so I rear ended a guy. Sucks because it was pretty heavy traffic and I had nowhere to go and no way to stop.

So now I need stock wheels or anything that will fit so I can take then off before the insurance gets to my qx and take it away so if anyone has anything available please let me know

I'm either keeping what I have for another qx or just sell if I can't find another =(

Anyways I'm not sure what they're going to give me, apparently 2000 qx4s are not worth much these days. Everything on the front is gone so no cool part outs, the 01+ hids are smashed

Let me know I need something anything asap!!

Sorry to hear it, that sux!

You might try the junkyard, just grab some spare's off wrecked trucks and put them on there and take your good ones. Shouldn't cost too much, who cares what shape the tires are in.

Also, I believe the wheels off a Trooper will fit properly too.

I'll call up some yards when I have a chance or check craigslist... I just hate how yards as soon as you ask for something, the dollar sign starts jumping in their heads :D

what I have is American Racing wheels 16x8 with General Grabber AT2 255/70-16s they miiight be for sale if I cant find a clean 01' qx4 4x4 (no 4x4 no care) soon

all I can say is brushguards look cool.... but man they f*ck up your own car in an accident!!!

Dude...that's the 5 northbound about 5 miles before you hit the 605, isn't it? Coming into LA? That sucks man....makes me rethink the whole brush guard idea....and makes a tubular frame and solid diamond plate bumpers sound even better...See the airbags deployed. Were you injured? Hope you came out all right.......Yeah, these cars have a market value of maybe 7-9k Not much at all...

I'm all over :D San Gabriel, Riverside, and San DiegoI live in Riverside currently, work in San Gabriel (very flexible schedule) and my folks live in San Diego

yea the '01 lights on an <00 is actually a decent amount of work due to the radiator core support design on the 97-00 I'm pretty upset about it, but its not worth it to rebuild it by spending 4k and end up with a salvage title qx4 thats worth 2k haha

Quote »SixGuns[/quote]dude you are exaaaactly right man, you know how the carpool lane ends on the 5 just around there and traffic bunches up while traffic is merging onto the 5 fom the 91? basically two cars almost merged into each other, one swerved and was spinning along the wide wide shoulder (in the pic). The spinning car came back into traffic lanes right in front of the car in front of me so we pancaked because although I was braking, it was waayy to crowded for me to slow down enough and leave proper spacing in front of me. It was so crowded that I couldnt even see the car spinning on the shoulder before he came back into lanes. I was in the #2 lane and somehow he squeezed past a 4runner in the #1 lane (fastlane) and the impact was in the #2 lane... random

the brushguard is what caused all the damage to the headlights, hood etc and the fact that it attaches to the frame rail makes it instant frame damage The coolant on the ground actually comes from the rad hose tat was split by the fan shroud being pushed in

I walked out totally fine, a bit of a nose burn from the airbag but I was 100% ok, the qx4 definitely did its job protecting me, and of that I'm very grateful.

and I found a set of 4runner wheels/tires for $100 in torrance so I'mma swoop swoop if the guy gets back to me! thanks!

Yep, thought so...I know the area well - my wife's folks live in Temple City (Pasadena area) so we make that drive now and then........and I almost always die in that EXACT same spot. They've been "doing construction" for like the last 3 years I've lived here, yet it always looks the same. Stupid...Too bad about the ride, man...gonna pick up another, or go another route? Bet you don't buy another brush guard!!! I know I won't be, after seeing your picture. Hope it goes well.

I'm really trying to find another qx4, 01+, but man there are so many running around that aren't 4wd!! In a perfect world I would find a silver/black 4wd qx4 and only have to pay a few thousand over what my insurance pays out

You're so right about that part of the 5, right there it gets dangerous and i'm on edge until I get past there and get on the 710 or 605I used to live in temple city/Arcadia too

It's been 10 days but no response on the value yet, the adjustor did tell me he thought it was impeccable which gives me some hopeI hope aaa doesn't let me down

Depending on what the adjuster comes back with, you can ask them to do a market study to determine the market value of your QX4. The problem is, right now you will do better with "book" values due to the market for SUVs being rather depressed.

That area of the 5 is dangerous. I live only a few exits from there and try to avoid it at all costs.
