I'm in Reading, PA...not too far from Philly. I've only seen a few 240SX's around here, and most of those were pretty beat. It's good to see if there's more of us in the general area.

On a not so related note, does anyone know of any local SR swap shops that might have some KA24DE motors around?

LOL...I think one would be the most I could fit in to my car. :D

Actually, I'm looking for a reasonably low mileage KA24DE (< 60K miles would be optimal) with a manual transmission.

I've currently got a KA with questionable compression (have to recheck myself when it gets a bit warmer), a dodgy 2nd gear synchro and a bad tensioner on the timing chain.

I'd like to get a fresh KA in the car and then slowly prep for a custom turbo setup.

I know of a place in Harrisburg that *might* have some engines on hand, but not 100% sure how many good ones they usually have on hand.

The key is that I'd like to get an engine and transmission that are fundamentally sound. I don't mind replacing water pump, clutch, timing belt stuff, etc. but I don't want to end up with another gigantic hunk of scrap metal.

I guess the tricky part is that most people wouldn't bother doing a compression test on an engine they just planned on pulling out for a swap.

I'd most likely be waiting until spring to do anything as involved as an engine swap. I'd also definitely want to avoid shipping an engine and just pick up.

Errr...does Import Intelligence normally have some fairly clean KA's on hand? :)

I go to school at St. Joe's. I would probably be up for coming to a meet in the city, even though i dont have a 240. i could probably convince a few of my friends from school to come with me. they loves 240's as well.
