I haven't looked at it yet, since I'm really far away. The car is being sold by another NICO member. Needs two injectors. He says its been dealer maintained with chain guides done and a new Infiniti tranny at 80k, and he's the second owner.
His email:"Santa Ana (SNA) is the closest airport, about 25 milesnorth of me. I'm in San Juan Capistrano, zip 92675.The rear tires are brand new, really niceBridgestones, and the fronts have about 70% left (alsoBridgestones).
No leaking of power steering fluid (never had anyissues with that). No leaking of the rack and pinion boot. Steering feelsthe same as when it was new. Never had any serviceissues with this.Suspension issues: when I back up slowly and put onthe brakes I get a little squeak (not the brakes). This just started about 3 months ago. I took it to thedealer and they had some recommendations, but since Iwas going to sell it, I didn't worry about it. Nothingleaks and it rides like it always has. Tierod endshave been replaced (about 4 years ago).No issues with the fuel pump. I don't believe I haveever had it replaced. No noises. The car is stillremarkably solid, no squeaks, noises, etc. I haveALWAYS used either Union 76 or Chevron premium gas inthe car."
"As described on NICO.com, the exterior isbeautiful, the driver's seat cracked and the passengerhas medium cracks, the backseats almost perfect aswell as the rest of the interior. No cracks on thedash, always garaged or covered.
Colors are sand inside and sand inside. As far as I know the tranny has the standard coolingunit, i.e. builtin to the radiator. The car has never overheated, even when the trannymelted. The Bose system is fine (I know all about the amps inthe speakers), but when I had the CD changer installedin the trunk (which doesn't work) they bypassed theBose amps. I had this done in about 2000 so can'tvouch for the amps now. I still have the originalradio/cassette.I'm not sure the water pump or thermostat have beenreplaced. If I had to say without looking at all therecords, I would say they have not been replaced. Istill don't hear anything from the water pump or haveever seen any coolant leaking.Yes, the radiator is original. I'm assuming when theyreplaced the transmission, they rebuilt the radiatorsince the tranny cooler is inside the radiator. The sunroof almost works, but when it doesn't it getsstuck. It worked fine for so many years, but thenstarted to get stuck, althought I could always closeit after a few tries. I checked with the local dealerand they wanted a lot of money to fix it. I believethe original sunroof's clutch was replaced underwarranty, probably around 1998.
I used to buy cars like these since I worked on carsand I would consider this a great candidate forsomeone who could work on these cars. As I said thedealer wants $2K to fix the 2 injectors and I know itcan be done for a lot less. I've gotten away fromworking on cars and help support the economy by payingfull retail at Infiniti dealers. I even bought the carfrom an Infiniti dealer in Santa Clara (northern CAwhere I used to live)."
"I have had the entire air conditioning system replacedand climate control, all under warranty (70K)."
