My 99.5 has a very generic stock prop rod to hold up the hood of a $32k MSRP vehicle. Pretty Sad IMO.

Anyway-anyone interested in a hood strut system?

http://www.redlinetuning.com

makes custom hood struts that have had very positive reviews on http://www.explorerforum.com.

FIRST OFF I AM IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THEM OR MAKING ANYTHING OFF THIS.

If there is anyone in Ann Arbor area: redlinetuning owners are willing to install their hood strut system on an R50 Pathfinder if someone can let them have their Pathfinder for a few hours.

I would do it but it is a little too far right now. Seems like a great opportunity to have another custom item in the almost non existent R50 aftermarket arena.

Anyone??????

lol im near there quite a bit, im always in windsor, ontario, my hometown, i only go through detroit for the autoshow or malls, and thats once a year. Is it free? cant we buy the kit for this on ebay for a relatively decent price? its not a big deal to me, as long as the rear hatch opens properly

Qxxx4,

It is only free for the volunteer who brings redline their Pathfinder for the mock up. They only need it for a few hours, the install/struts will be free for the volunteer. The Explorer owner who did this was with the owners the whole time and even snapped pics. As far as ebay I have never seen a kit for the R50's. Even if there was I wouldnt trust it or buy it without reviews etc. Here is the link regarding the mockup done on a Ford Explorer:

Redline has a kit on ebay for the latest model Pathfinders but not a kit for the R50 yet. Here is a great opportunity.
