I'm tempted to take my stack of references, letters, and my business degree and head to Detroit to see what I can shake up.

Should I do it? I might be the only person left on earth who doesn't really mind that city and loves the food and enjoys some cold weather. I grew up in STL in the 80s and 90s during the peak of its four-decade period of decay, so maybe I'm numb to it.

Worst case scenario, I fall flat on my face, come home, and do pre-med... right?

sounds like a solid plan.

I think buying property in Detroit right now is a good idea...living there, that's debatable, but give it a few years and the hipsters will move in and the city's gonna have a nice rebirth.

I think this is a killer idea, go do it.

Obviously, do some canvassing remotely before just showing up, but what do you have to lose? You'll regret it later if you don't, IMO.

For the first time in awhile, the Big Three are really going places. Maybe you can work for Cadillac!

My college automotive teacher worked for Cadillac for like 30 years @.o
Your plan seems like an ok one, just needs more pre-emptive research. = D

I worked at Nissan for a year, under Calsonic. Crappy pay coupled with crappy conditions= "screw" you, I quit
