Ran the ka-e maf all last summer, without updating the map on the ecu... basically it ran, and have not had any problems with the car performing. I have a narrow band a/f gauge, and it reads optimal till i go over 3k rpms which is where the map starts to change, then it just rich from there.

If it ran rich, then would this be a good option for someone using a T28 and no tune on a ca18? I have all the basic upgrades done, but right now I'm looking for a simple tune. Would this work?

it may WORK, but it is by no means a tune. I would never run that. It's basically saying well these mods will make my car run lean, and these mods will make it run rich, perfect!

if you're looking for a simple tune try an s-afc or a rom tune. Poor tuning is a good way to destroy your engine.

The SAFC can fix the KAE MAFS overfueling problems.

IMHO, the SAFC is a great tune for mild changes to the fuel map.

It's when you're trying to use it to compensate for LOTS of changes that I have a problem with it.

I ran one for 3 years with a stock ROM. Runs much better with a proper tune now.
