Anyone here have Tailight tints on their max?

I am debating of getting them. The reason for the debate. I don't want to get pulled over in the day by a cop. I know the light goes though them when you hit the brake but I don't want to get hassled by the cops. So I wanted to know if any of you guys who have them... Keep them at all times?

The law in California is that tail lights can be tinted as long as they provide clear indication that the driver is breaking. So in the day time, the light coming through has to be visible enough when you brake to give clear indication of whether or not you are braking. So theoretically, a cop can argue with you over how well he can see the brake lights but it's not something you will get pulled over specifically for. Worse case scenario, you get a fix it ticket. No biggie. Most cops won't bother you over things like that unless you piss them off. Also, just so you know, headlight tinting is an absolute NO. Cops WILL stop you for tinted headlights.

I don't leave my headlights on during the day for the most part and the only time I have been pulled over was because my tabs were expired and he didn't say anything about tints. I think it depends on the cop too like rxm6 said. I got pulled over back in the day in my 89 and so from then on whenever I was on the highway I left my lights on. In my opinion, enough light shines through where I don't worry about people hitting me and plus the long 3rd brake light on the spoiler is a big help

We have the back light panel on the Talon tinted (sorry, no pics for you, but it looks good with the diamond blue paint) and have not had a problem so far in four months of use.--Mike
