Somebody else just asked this same question not even a week ago, I think. The dipstick is on the passenger side at the rear of the engine. It is bolted down by a 10mm bolt that needs to be removed and then twisted to pull it out. The specs are all in the basic specs thread. cheers

Or just if you want the job done right the first time by a trained/experienced person...

right.in my case it worked, but what about all the posts here that could not fix stupid little thing like trunk problem or gas gauge at the dealer. it was basic stuff to fix it and we had millions posts about bringing the to the dealer and replacing wrong parts,. good for people that had warranties . what about that did not have any warranty? how much did they spend? and how many times they run out of gas after fixing the car at the dealer by " trained/experienced" techs? please count those posts for me. all i am saying you'll never know. 50/50 % rate off fixing it right or wrong.good luck.

Don't confuse simple partial pan drain with 100% ATF replacement ~~ 10 quarts.

Most ATF QUALITY exhange machines hold 14 quarts to insure >95% replacememnt due to internal cross system leakage.

If you plan on keeping vehicles beyond warranty always get a transmission replacement quote in advance since this $5,000 price should bring reality to the need to exchange fluids every 30,000 miles to squeeze the last mile out of system.

Old 4 speeds could be swapped for $3500 but newer 5 speeds are more expensive.

Sealed for life means problems begin at 100k.

Do a pan drop and clean the magnet and filter [replacement is better] use new screws to reattach.

Be glad you didn't buy a MB or BMW the 7 speed trannies cost $7-9,000 to rebuild and replace.

well, since i had my car on jackstand.

i surfaced my front rotors and changed the pads...then did the air filter (pads and filter had to be ORDERED....i guess no one stocks our parts).

i did an oil change and check my transmission fluid....transmission fluid still looks red'ish and clean. so imma give it til next oil change for another transmission fluid change.

i didnt know the parts are soooo hard to find for this car.
