I was doing some reading about buying a new Hyundai tonight. (Not saying I'm going to do it.. just curious about the upcoming Veloster) As I was popping around the internet I found an interesting website..
https://www.motozuma.com/index.aspx

Please note that I am not endorsing this website. Instead, I'm actually skeptical of it and I wondered if anyone on NICO has heard of it or has any info about it.

The basic theory of the site is they are a "savings" account for car purchases. You open an account and you or family or friends can deposit money on your behalf to save toward a future car purchase. The benefit of the site (according to them at least) is that partner car sellers will offer special perks. Currently Hyundai has a $500 match good through the end of '11.

I have no need for the savings account, but if I were to buy a Hyundai, I'd sure like to get the extra $500 free money match for my "motozuma down payment".

*Side bar.. I'm still not sold on Hyundai.. They certainly have made great strides in recent years, but I'm not sure... Anyone own a new one?

I test drove an Elantra and found a few issues with drivability that I just couldn't handle. But, the upcoming Veloster is a neat looking car. I've not driven a new Sonata yet, but I've heard great things. Though, one thing I don't like is the idea of driving the same car as everyone else.. there are like 5 of them in my sub-division already.. :(

What makes it especially tempting is that I should get a "supplier discount" of invoice less 3% of MSRP.. plus college grad discount of $400 and maybe even another $500 from this motozuma deal.

Go for a test drive in the Kia Optima, looks different than many cars on the road and well equipped .

I think I can actually get my own VPP since Delphi is a supplier. I think I've got 10 different manufacturers..
GM, Ford, Chevy, Subaru, Nissan, Mercedes, Volvo, Hyundai, VW.. and I can't think of the last one off the top of my head...

I've never heard of it myself and I'm not sure that I would trust it personally, the extra $500 cash would be nice, but why not just put the money away in an interest bearing savings account instead? My bank gives me rewards based on my spending as well, which can get you a VISA gift card for example, so that's something to keep in mind too if your bank does that too.

I have nothing against Hyundai quality wise, but about the only thing they make that I don't think is butt ugly is the Genesis Coupe. A Kia is a Hyundai that looks A LOT better IMHO. I thought Kia was coming out with a coupe like the one you mentioned too for some reason...

Check and see if you can dig up info on friends discounts. I found out about the Ford/Lincoln Xplan thing recently and my mind was blown and my money was saved :)

We drove the Sonata in Omaha. It was nice but I would test drive the Optima. (The wheels are horrible so make sure you have room in the budget for replacements.) It's a lot easier on the eyes and it has better reviews. If you are looking for a coupe (just a commuter, not a family hauler) I would consider the Kia Forte Coupe. We got to play in one at SEMA and it was awesome.

This is it. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt ... 80&bih=906

I'd drive it. I wish Nissan had something that would compete with it.

I tried to drive it... waited at the dealership for 90 minutes while a salesman tried to find a set of keys to a manual. Walked out when they ran out of popcorn.
Kia (like Nissan) needs to step up their dealers. Nissan is the worst though.
