Sportmax? I have seen them before but not sure on quality to much. Looking at a set of 17x9" with 35MM offset. It's for a 95 SE that won't see drags or drifts, just some rare aggresive street driving. I need some thing looks good but won't break, peel, chip or otherwise look like crap in 6 months. I think a 255/40 will fit fine without looking stretched ( I hate that look) but I am concerned about them clearing the fenders as well. I read the sticky on wheels but none had the same offset as the ones I am looking at.

dood... seriously... search... there are a ridiculous number of threads on sportmax rims. will clear fenders just fine, you need to worry about x9 +35 clearing coilovers/inside in front depending on ur suspension setup... but again, search.

Check that, I understand the search thing but I mentioned in another thread that I have very limited internet access right now but I need alot of information quickly.

sportmax? Ive never heard of them.. lol :-P

anyways... +35 is weak. get at least a +20 or anything less than that. 255's on a 9 sounds too wide, go for somewhere along the lines of 235 or 245 at the most.

Will 20mm offset be to much with lowered suspension? If it rubs it will kill my tire in no time. I like the flush look, and keep in mind I have a long road trip as soon as I put these bad boys on.

It's a thought but not right away since I need to get the car to TN from NY as soon as the new wheels go on. Plus my rear fenders have a bit of happy bubble rust on them and need to get fixed.I am considering a less agressive wheel, taking my needs into account, and looking at a 17x7 35mm offset with a 225/40 tire. Thoughts?

personally, 7" on 17's look horrible, and is a waste considering stock wheels are already 6.5" wide. I'd go 17x8 at the least. I understand your take on higher offset, but you now know the pros and cons, so thats completely up to you. If I were you, I wouldn't rush things. if you gonna do something, do it right the fist time. It doesnt make sense to choose a wheel size based on the mere fact that your in a hurry to do something... cuz you'll regret it down the line

Very true, I have a set of 17x8's picked out as well. I will have to run the numbers on those with a 35mm offset. Hey, check out my other thread you responded to earlier, you seem to be only one responding to me

All right, final choice, I'll be ordering on Tuesday. Konig heatsink's size 17x8 20mm offset with Kumho SPT tires size 225/45 17. Tires are a nice balance between performance and ride and the wheels are good looking but not sure on the weight. Konig dosen't produce heavy wheels ( to heavy anyway) and I had a set of heliums in the past on my civic that I liked.Total cost will be $1050 plus or minus $50 ( not sure on shipping yet ). OK, thats it. Any last minute suggestions kick em out now.
